Scooper Heroes was founded in 2024 by Dave Bedford, a Ware-based dog owner who saw a genuine need for support among overwhelmed pet owners.

The idea took shape after chatting with an elderly friend at the local dog park who was struggling to keep their garden clean. It sparked a deeper concern: if something as simple as dog waste was becoming too much, how many owners might feel forced to give up their pets because the day-to-day responsibilities had started to feel unmanageable?

Dave realised that by taking away the worst part of dog ownership, he could help ease that load—and maybe keep a few dogs out of rehoming centres in the process.

After researching what was already out there, he saw the opportunity to offer a pooper scooper service that was more professional, more reliable, and far more customer-focused. With a background in digital marketing and a growing itch to ditch the screen in favour of fresh air and friendly faces, Scooper Heroes was born.

Scooper Heroes’ client base is varied—young professionals, busy families, elderly dog lovers, and people managing chronic health conditions. The common thread? They all want one less disgusting thing to deal with.

Oh, and if you hear barking in the background when you’re on the phone to Dave? That’s Ralphie the cockapoo—his four-legged sidekick and the business’s unofficial head of morale, with better comedic timing than most stand-ups.
